How Do You Describe Faith

In the words of the book of Hebrews right from the Bible, faith is the “assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. What that basically means is that faith is believing in something that you can’t see with your eyes. A simple example might be to think of the wind or even love…you can’t see either one of them can you? But you most certainly BELIEVE in both of them. Why? Because you can see the evidence of them all around you. You know they exist because of faith.

It takes faith to believe in God…you can’t see Him…but I hope you can see the evidence that He exists all around you…in the creation…in your friends and family. I’ll never be able to totally scientifically prove the existence of God, but I know that He exists and is real because of faith…because of the evidence I see in my own life.

Actually I really think it takes more faith to believe that God DOESN’T exist! Because you really have to ignore all the evidence and still choose to put your faith in the fact that there is no God. Sometimes I think people like that are actually closer to a relationship with God than a lot of us…they already have strong faith, they just to allow themselves to have their faith re-directed toward Someone who is completely worthy of their faith and trust…
